Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor in Real Estate (Re-advertisement)

Duties: The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Real Estate with specialization in any of the following fields: land administration, valuation, facilities management, rating, estate agency or property development appraisal.  The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses besides those outlined above. In addition, the candidate is expected to undertake research and provide community and professional services to the University of Botswana and the public at large.  A successful candidate at Associate Professor level will be expected to provide leadership to the Real Estate Section within the Department.

Requirements:

Senior Lecturer: Candidates should have i) a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Management and Valuation, Land Economics or related field awarded by a recognized university; (ii) a Master’s degree in Real Estate, Property Management, Property Investment Appraisal, Land Economics or related field; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a university or comparable institution at the rank of Lecturer or higher rank; and (iv) a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of which are peer reviewed journal articles; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi) applicants should demonstrate evidence of service; (vii) a relevant PhD and  demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.

Associate Professor: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Management and Valuation, Land Economics or related field awarded by a recognized university; (ii) a Master’s degree in Real Estate, Property Management, Property Investment Appraisal, Land Economics or related field; (iii) at least 5 years of teaching experience at a University or comparable institution at the rank of Senior Lecturer or higher rank; (iv) have a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least 12 publications, 8 of which should be refereed journal articles; lead and/or single authored in at least 6 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (v) evidence of service to University, the Profession and the Community; (vi) evidence of effective academic leadership; (vii) a relevant PhD will be an added advantage. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.
