SAFER IMPROVEMENT STUDY RESEARCH COORDINATOR (2 year CONTRACT- renewable)

The SAFER Improvement Study at the University of Botswana is looking for an experienced, assertive, results driven leader with keen interest in research to join our team.

Principal responsibilities:

The incumbent will be expected to work with the study’s Principal Investigators (PIs) to plan, supervise, and oversee the day-to-day research activities in accordance with standards and to manage study finances and reporting.

You will also be accountable for implementation of research protocols and coordination of the local research team.

Successful candidate will be expected to do the following:

  • Coordinate the implementation of operational aspects of the research, including general administration, data management, regulatory administration, safety, budgets and contracts.
  • Maintain study standards according to the guidelines of the Institution, the relevant Institutional Review Boards and other governing agencies.
  • Assist with the design, coordination, implementation, and assessment of Data Quality Assurance on issues related to data completeness and quality.
  • Assist with generation of study related reports and data as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between all stakeholders to ensure that the study is conducted according to the approved protocol, and that key stakeholders remain apprised of study achievements and challenges.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of study staff and facilitate their capacity building.

Minimum requirements: Degree in any field, minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in research, at least 2 years’ experience as a research coordinator, experience implementing quantitative and qualitative research. Formal training in research and experience conducting research related to health services offer added advantages.
