RESEARCH NURSE(S) AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT(S)

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

We are a dynamic team of researchers based at the University of Botswana, the Botswana Harvard AIDS Partnership and the Ministry of Health and Wellness primarily focused on improving health outcomes for people living in Botswana and the Region. The team is currently running a study investigating the SARS-CoV-2-specific qualitative antibody responses post-vaccine administration in Botswana.

We seek hardworking, conscientious professionals with attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, work ethic and a keen interest in research to join our team in the following positions:

 

  1. RESEARCH NURSE(S)

Key Performance Areas

The successful appointees will be required to perform tasks necessary for the safe and complete delivery of the procedures outlined in the protocol to the highest standard. Amongst other responsibilities, they will be required to.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing (for Research Nurses positions)
  • Must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana (for Research Nurses positions)
  • At least a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience working as a Research nurse.

Competencies

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Computer literate

 

  1. RESEARCH ASSISTANT(S)

Key Performance Areas

The successful appointees will be required to perform tasks necessary for the safe and complete delivery of the procedures outlined in the protocol to the highest standard. Amongst other responsibilities, they will be required to.

  • Complete all data entry points as required by the study protocol and data management plan entering this data accurately into the electronic data collection database
  • Contribute to the resolution of any ensuing data queries in a timely manner
  • Provide regular updates on study progress.
  • Communicates with the Researchers for the data collection visit schedule; travels to designated locations to complete on-site data collection visit as scheduled.
  • Complete all data entry points as required by the study protocol and data management plan entering this data accurately into the electronic data collection database
  • Collects data as per protocol
  • Obtain study related samples (e.g., blood draw)
  • Provide constructive feedback in terms of logistics related to data collection.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree/Diploma in a health-related subject
  • At least a minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience working as a Research Assistant in a study involving patients (required)
  • Certificate in Good Clinical Practice
  • Previous work experience in clinical research setting

Competencies

  • Strong presentation skills
  • Computer literate
