RESEARCH COORDINATOR

(1 POSITION: FULL-TIME FOR 2 YEAR FIXED CONTRACT)

 

The Intersectional Stigma Study at the University of Botswana/Sbrana Psychiatric Hospital is looking for an experienced, assertive, results driven leader with keen interest in research to join our team.

Duties:  the successful candidate is expected to: (i) work with the study’s Principal Investigators (PIs) and Research Assistants to plan, supervise and oversee the day-to-day research activities and to manage study finances and reporting; (ii) be accountable for implementation of research protocols and coordination of the local research team; (iii) coordinate the implementation of operational aspects of the research, including general administration, data management, regulatory  administration, safety, and budgets. Such coordination will include Research Assistant deployment and supervision; recruitment optimization; blood draws, tracking and obtaining laboratory test results; IRB submissions and engagement, and any other aspects of the study; (iv) assist with the design, coordination, implementation and assessment of Data Quality Assurance activities to ensure data quality and completeness; (v) assist with generation of study related reports and data as needed; (vi) act as a liaison between all stakeholders to ensure that the study is conducted according to the approved protocol, and that key stakeholders remain appraised of study achievements and challenges; (vii) supervise and manage the performance of study staff.

Requirements: applicant should have: (i) Degree in any field; (ii) a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience; (ii) at least 2 years experience as a Research Coordinator; (iii) experience in implementing quantitative and qualitative research.

Added advantage: formal training in research and experience conducting research related to health services.

Remuneration:  the Research Study offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
