RESEARCH ASSISTANT (1-YEAR CONTRACT)

‘EFFICACY OF A NOVEL, CONTEXTUALISED PEDIATRIC RESUSCITATION EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION IN BOTSWANA’ PROJECT

VACANCY NO: IRC 2804

Duties: the successful applicant will: (i) assist with research activities, including data collection, data entry, and preliminary data analysis; (ii) support the preparation of reports, presentations, and academic publications; (iii) assist with administrative tasks related to ongoing research projects; (iv) maintain accurate and organised research records; (v) liaise with research participants and collaborating institutions; and (vi) carry out any other duties as assigned by the project lead or Head of Department.

Requirements: the successful applicant should have: (i) a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or a related discipline; (ii) previous experience in a research setting; (iii) proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Redcap software; (iv) basic understanding of medical terminology; (v) good organisational and communication skills; and (vi) a strong work ethic and demonstrated willingness to learn.

Added advantages: (i) prior experience with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, NVivo); (ii) previous experience working with human subjects research or clinical data; (iii) familiarity with academic writing and referencing.
