PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR

The University of Botswana, Faculty of Science, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Project Administrator at the Department of Chemistry. This position will provide administrative and financial management support for the entire project across consortium partners, ensuring efficient implementation and compliance with institutional requirements.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Assist the project coordinator in administrative and financial activities of the project, 
  1. Assist the coordinator in budget management, expenditure tracking, and preparation of financial reports in line with funder and UB regulations, 
  1. Assist international students with VISA and insurance applications, 
  1. Support the preparation of technical and financial reports for submission to the funder, 
  1. Provide logistical support for project meetings, workshops, training programs, and mobility arrangements. 
  1. Maintain project records, databases, and documentation to ensure compliance and effective reporting. 
  1. Assist the project coordinator in day-to-day management and communication with consortium members. 
  1. Serve as the secretary of the Consortium Board. 

Requirements: 

  1. BA degree in Financial Administration and/or Project Management, 
  1. At least two years’ experience in project administration and financial management, preferably in donor-funded projects, 
  1. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, 
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, 
  1. Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools, 
  1. Website management experience is an added advantage, 
  1. Priority will be given to female applicants, provided that all requirements are met. 

Contract Duration: This is a full-time position tenable at the University of Botswana for the duration of one year with possible extension for another year subject to satisfactory performance.
