The University of Botswana (UB), a premier state-owned tertiary institution dedicated to shaping the future through excellence, innovation and meaningful societal impact, invites applications from accomplished and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Professional: Programmes Review, in the Centre for Learning and Teaching Innovation.

The Professional: Programmes Review will be responsible for assisting with the design, enhancement, alignment and implementation of academic programmes and curricula with educational objectives, industry trends and teaching best practices. The position holder assists in collaboration with faculty members, administrators and stakeholders to ensure quality, relevance and continuous improvement of academic offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Policy: Contribute to and implement departmental, sectional and unit strategies, policies, plans and procedures, while driving continuous improvement and innovation through monitoring key trends.

Curriculum Design: (i) Support the development, review, implementation and evaluation of academic programmes, courses, and curricula. (ii)  Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to develop course materials, learning outcomes, assessments, and curriculum design best practices. (iii) Collect, compile and analyse data for programme reviews, accreditation and continuous improvement. (iv)  Prepare training materials and coordinate workshops, inductions and other programme review activities

Risk and Compliance: Support operational risk identification and mitigation, participate in internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation, and university policies.

Customer Service: (i) Respond to customer and stakeholder queries within area of expertise. (ii) Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure effective service delivery and achievement of assigned responsibilities.

Professional Development: (i) Engage with the professional community to build and share expertise in the field. (ii) Meet performance targets and prepare for performance reviews and appraisals. (iii) Identify and pursue learning and development opportunities aligned with departmental needs.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements: Applicants should have (i) A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Higher Education, Educational Management /Administration, Quality Assurance in Education or a related field. (ii) A Master's Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.

Work Experience: Not Required.

Other Requirements: (i) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. (ii) Effective communication and interpersonal skills. (iii) Willingness to learn and adapt to curriculum development tools and processes. (iv) Honesty in handling cash or finances.
