PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR ((FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

The University of Botswana (UB), a state- owned tertiary education institution invites suitable candidates for the position of Director, Professional Education and Development in the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Teaching & Learning.

The Director, Professional Education and Development is responsible for leading and managing the department's strategic direction, overseeing programme development, fostering business partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality Professional Development Courses (PDC’s) and programmes for the University.

  5. Customer and Stakeholder Experience
  6. Risk Management and Compliance
  7. People Management
  8. Financial Management

Position Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications; applicant must have attained;

  1. A Master’s Degree in Business, Education or related field is required.
  2. A PhD in a related field will be an added advantage

Experience:

  1. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) of which should have been at middle management level.
  2. Higher Education work experience is preferred 

Professional Registration or license

Member of recognized professional body is preferred. 

Other requirements

  1. Extensive experience in program development and management in an educational or corporate training context.
  2. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and budget management skills.
  3. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  4. Understanding of accreditation and quality assurance standards.
  5. Visionary thinking and the ability to drive innovation.
