PONO YAME PROGRAMME MANAGER

 PONO YAME PROGRAMME MANAGER (2 year CONTRACT- renewable)

The Pono Yame project at the University of Botswana is looking for a driven, meticulous, time sensitive and collaborative Programme Manager.

Principal responsibilities:

The Programme Manager will be accountable for supporting the delivery of Pono Yame, the comprehensive national school eye health programme led by the Ministry of Health & Wellness of the Government of Botswana, alongside the Peek Programme Management Lead. You will also be accountable for continuously improving the processes based on the evidence derived from each project. You will be familiar with project management, deployment processes (especially in Botswana), relationship building and evidence gathering.

Successful candidate will be expected to do the following:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of Peek products and services.
  • Support the delivery and implementation of Peek Solutions within Pono Yame.
  • Developing relationships and communications with the Government of Botswana, Ministries of Health & Wellness (MoHW) and Basic Education (MoBE), and the Pono Yame Implementation Team and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engagement opportunities to sensitise stakeholders on eye health, including meetings with community leaders and schools leadership.
  • Collaborate within the Programmes team to develop programme strategy and support implementation.
  • Support the continuous reporting and documentation of Pono Yame using practice-based evidence framework.

Minimum requirements: Undergraduate degree in any field, with training in Public Health an added advantage, minimum 5 years of relevant experience implementing Public Health projects, experience working in/with the public health sector, at least 2 years’ experience working at a managerial or senior administrative level, strong English writing skills.
