The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Lecturer /Senior Lecturer to teach courses in Urban and Regional Planning Programme, fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Duties:
The successful candidate will (i) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Urban and Regional Planning. (ii) Teach design and/or studio courses (iii) undertake research in his/her field of expertise; (iv) participate in governance and social engagement; and (v) undertake any other duties assigned to him/her by the supervisor or Head of Department.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess (i) a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 on a 5-point scale or equivalent; (ii) a Master’s Degree in Urban Design/Urban Planning or equivalent (iii) A PhD in Urban Design/Urban Planning or Equivalent. (iv) eligible to register with internationally recognized professional body or institute.
N.B. In special circumstances an applicant with Master’s Degree in Urban Design or equivalent area with demonstrable quality design experience (Portfolio) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent with at least a 2(i) classification may be considered for appointment.
Selected candidates will be invited for an interview, and to submit portfolios of their work.
