PART-TIME LECTURER IN MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING (6 months)

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Manufacturing Engineering, and related areas; (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; (iii) Conduct research in the area of Manufacturing Engineering and also complement existing research activities; (iv) Participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; (v) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related areas; (ii) a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related areas with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related areas of at least 2(i) pass/GPA and/or at least 3.6 equivalent; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research. Teaching experience in the area of Manufacturing Engineering at a university or comparable institution and evidence of governance and social engagement will be added advantages.

N.B. Under special circumstances a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related areas with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related areas of at least 2(i) pass/GPA and/or at least 3.6 equivalent may be considered.
