Duties: The successful candidate is expected to: (i) teach theory and practical in all aspects of counselling and participate in practicum and internship supervision and clinical supervision; (ii) provide academic leadership through enhancement of teaching, research, professional and community service; (iii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of graduates; (iv) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research and curriculum review; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Candidate should have (i) a Doctorate in any of the following areas: Counselling and Human Services/Counselling/Guidance and Counseling/Counsellor Education, School Counselling, Mental Health Counselling, Marriage and Family Counselling, Rehabilitation Counselling or related fields and has evidence of professional affiliation; (ii) evidence of engagement in research (iii) Evidence of governance and social engagement, clinical supervision as well as teaching at university or comparable institution will be added advantages.
N.B. In special circumstances a relevant Master’s degree in any of the areas above with a relevant Bachelor degree with at least a 2.1; may be considered.
Remuneration: The University offers competitive part time rates.
