The University of Botswana (UB), a state – owned tertiary education institution invites suitably qualified candidates for the position of Manager: Purchasing and Tendering, in the Office of the Chief Finance Officer.

OFFICE OF THE CHIEF FINANACE OFFICER

Manager: Purchasing and Tendering *REF: VACANCY NO: CFO/PO02/2026

The Manager: Purchasing and Tenders will oversee all procurement and purchasing activities within the University. The position holder will develop and implement procurement strategies, lead the procurement of university goods and/or services, manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with policies and Regulations.

 6. Risk Management & Compliance

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (required) & Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Experience: Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience, with three (3) years at senior officer level & Experience in a higher education is preferred.

Professional Registration: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).

Other Requirements: Extensive experience in procurement management, preferably in higher education setting, In‑depth knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices, Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software and data analysis tools & Leadership and team management capabilities.
