MANAGER, PHARMACY

 Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Contribute to the development of university and departmental strategies, policies, plans & procedures, and lead implementation at pharmaceutical service level; (ii) Develop unit level policies & procedures aligned to national pharmaceutical policies & legislation. (iii) Oversee adherence to set standards on pharmaceutical services; (iv) Oversee the daily operations of the health services pharmacy, including medication dispensing and stock management; (v) Develop & lead implementation of quality assurance & medication safety programs to prevent medication errors and ensure the safe use of medications (vi) Develop materials to standardize pharmaceutical care & medication counseling to patients on chronic medications and those presenting with adherence challenges. (viii) Identify & address areas of improvement for customer and stakeholder experience. (ix) Develop and manage pharmacy risk register with clear mitigation strategies (x) Support unit level professional development activities, including mentoring, training, and opportunities for advancement. (xi) Assist with the development and management of the departmental budget and (xii) Undertake any other duties as required by the University in line with the role and assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) A master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent in any related field. (ii) A minimum of six (6) years' experience, three (3) of which should have been at managerial or senior professional level; (iii) Previous experience in pharmacy management or leadership roles. (v) Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, drug information, and medication management (vii) Proficiency in pharmacy software and electronic health record systems

(iv) A compassionate and empathetic attitude when dealing with patients' health concerns and unique circumstances. (v)Ability to adapt to the evolving healthcare needs of the university community and stay updated with best pharmaceutical practices.
