Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, for the position of Manager, ICT Security and Data Protection in the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
Position Description
The Manager of ICT Security and Data Protection is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the University's cyber security and data protection programs to safeguard the University's digital assets and sensitive information.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In general successful candidate shall be responsible for strategy and policy implementation, Data protection and compliance, incident response and recovery, security awareness and training, vendor and technology evaluation, people management, financial management, and risk management and compliance. These responsibilities will cover but not limited to the following (a) Develop and implement ICT security and data protection plans, (b) ensure compliance with data protection regulations and University data policies, (c) establish and enforce data protection and privacy measures (d) conduct data impact assessments and maintain data protection documentation (e) conduct regular IT systems audits and advise on corrective (f) Conduct risk analysis and maintain an IT systems risk register, (g) Identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities and take proactive measures to mitigate risks, (h) develop and maintain an incident response plan for cyber security incidents, (i) Lead incident response teams in monitoring, identifying and mitigating security breaches, (j) develop and implement security awareness programmes for users, (k) support internal and external unit level audits as per the University policy (l) Address audit findings and recommendations to improve processes and controls, (m) ensure unit compliance to legislative and statutory requirements and alignment to best practice and standards.

Responsible for: Senior ICT Security and Data Protection Engineers, and ICT Security and Data Protection Engineers
