VACANCY NO: FE/MSE 02/2022 - LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION (1 Contract Position)
Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science Education in the Department of Mathematics and Science, Faculty of Education.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach Computer Studies Education courses to undergraduate and graduate students; (ii) supervise students on internship/teaching practice; (iii) supervise students’ research projects, theses and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels (iv) Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department from time to time.
Requirements:
Candidates for the post of Senior Lecturer should have: (i) A relevant doctorate in Computer Science Education; (ii) a Master’s degree in Computer Science Education or equivalent. (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Education or equivalent (iv) A minimum of six (6) pieces of research products published by recognized publishers, four (4) of the six (6) being articles in refereed/accredited journals in internationally recognized indexing databases. (v) A minimum of three years university or equivalent teaching experience (vi) Evidence of governance and social engagements (vii) The following will be added advantages: (a) sustained research activity: on-going internally and/or externally supported research; (b) research awards and other forms of research recognition, where appropriate.
Candidates for the post of Lecturer should have: (i) a Doctoral degree in Computer Science Education or equivalent; (ii) a Master’s degree in Computer Science Education or equivalent. (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Education or equivalent; (iv) evidence of engagement in research (v) Experience in teaching Computer Science Education at college/university level or its equivalence, social engagements and governance be added advantages.
N.B. Under special circumstances, a Master’s degree in Computer Science Education with at least a 2(i) or (CGPA of at least 3.6 out of 5) or equivalent pass or equivalent at Bachelor’s degree level maybe considered
