The Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Social Sciences.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses especially Biostatistics, Design of Experiments, Non-Parametric, Agricultural Statistics and Biometry; (ii) supervise undergraduate, masters and PhD student research as need may arise; (iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; (iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of department.
Requirements: the candidate should have: (i) At least a relevant Doctorate in Statistics. A relevant Masters’ Degree in Statistics with a Bachelors’ degree in Statistics of at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) Evidence of governance and Social Engagement will be an added advantage; (iv) University teaching experience or equivalent will be an advantage; (v) Areas of interest in Biostatistics, Design of Experiments, Non-parametric, Agricultural Statistics and Biometry.
