The Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Statistics.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses especially Biostatistics, Design of Experiments, Non-Parametric, Agricultural Statistics and Biometry; (ii) supervise undergraduate, masters and PhD student research as need may arise; (iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; (iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of department.
Requirements: the candidate should have: (i) At least a relevant Doctorate in Statistics; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; The following will be added advantages (i) Evidence of governance and Social Engagement in Statistics ; (ii) area of interest in Biostatistics, Design of Experiments, Non-parametric, Agricultural Statistics and Biometry; (iii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution.
NB: Under special circumstances, a relevant Master’s Degree in Statistics or related field; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.
