LECTURER IN STATISTICS (CONTRACT POSITION)
VACANCY NO: FSS/ST01/2023
Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Social Sciences
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses especially Bayesian Inference, Biometry and Data Science ii) supervise undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. student research as the need may arise; iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Candidates should have: i) At least a relevant Doctorate in Statistics. ii) Show evidence of engagement in research. iii) Evidence of governance and social engagement will be an added advantage; iv) University teaching experience or equivalent will be an added advantage. v) Area of interest in Bayesian Inference, Biometry and Data Science.
NB: In special circumstances, (i) a Master’s degree in Statistics (ii) with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics with at least 2(i) /GPA of 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.
