LECTURER IN STATISTICS (CONTRACT POSITION)

VACANCY NO: FSS/ST04/2022 

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Social Sciences

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses especially Design of Experiments, Probability theory, and Stochastic Processes ii) supervise undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. student research as the need may arise; iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidates should have: i) At least a relevant Doctorate in Statistics. ii) Show evidence of engagement in research. (iii) Area of interest in Design of Experiments, Probability, and Stochastic Processes. The following will be added advantage (i) Evidence of governance and social engagement; ii) University teaching experience or equivalent

N.B. Applicants with a relevant Master’s Degree in Statistics with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
