Duties: The successful candidate is expected to: (i) teach undergraduate level courses in Real Estate in any of the following fields: valuation, facilities management, rating, estate agency, housing economies, property management, land economics and/or property development appraisal. The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses besides those outlined above; (ii) undertake research in his/her field of expertise; (iii) participate in governance and social engagement; (iv) undertake any other duties assigned to him/her by the supervisor or Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should possess: (i) a Doctorate in Real Estate or in any of the following specialized fields of Real Estate: Property Investment Appraisal, Land Economy, Estate Management, Land Management and Valuation, (ii) show evidence of engagement in research, (iii) show evidence of membership of the Real Estate Institute of Botswana or membership of any internationally recognized institute. Evidence of governance and social engagement in context of the Real Estate profession, as well as teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages.
N.B. In special circumstances a Master’s Degree in Master’s degree in Real Estate, Property Management, Property Investment Appraisal, Land Economy, Estate Management or equivalent with a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Land Management and Valuation, Land Economy or Estate Management of at least 2(i) or equivalent may be considered.
