The Faculty of Social Sciences invites suitable candidates to apply for the position of Lecturer in Psychology.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology, and related areas; (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; (iii) Conduct research in Psychology also complement existing research activities in the area; (iv) Participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; (v) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: the candidate should possess: (i) a Doctorate in Psychology or related field, (ii) a Master’s Degree in in Psychology or related field; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.5 or equivalent; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) registered or eligible to be registered with the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC); (ii) abilities to teach statistics for psychology, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution as well as evidence of Governance and Social Engagement in Psychology or related fields.
N.B. In special circumstances a relevant Master’s Degree in Psychology or a related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of at least 2.1 or equivalent may be considered.
