LECTURER IN POLITICAL SCIENCE - 1 POST (2 YEAR FIXED CONTRACT, BDF FUNDED)

Duties: The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The candidates should be able to teach at least three of the following: Critical Thinking; International Relations; Security Studies; Conflict and War; Analysis of National Security Policies; Foreign Policy Analysis; Theories and Practice in Civil Military Relations; and Research Methods and Computer Applications. The successful candidates must also be able to take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and post graduate research work. The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above.
Requirements: (i) a Doctorate in Political Science or related discipline; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (ii) evidence of governance and social engagement.
NB: Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Political Science or related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or related discipline of at least 2.1 or equivalent may be considered.
