DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE STUDIES
LECTURER IN POLITICAL SCIENCE - 1 POST (2 YEAR FIXED CONTRACT)
VACANCY NO: FSS/PAS01/2023
Duties: The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The candidates should be able to teach at least three of the following: Classical Political Thought; Modern Political Thought; Politics of Poverty in Southern Africa; Democratic Theory and Practice; Research Methods and Computer Applications; Southern Africa in the World Economy; International Relations; and Security Studies. The successful candidate must also be able to take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and post graduate research work. The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above.
Requirements: (i) a Doctorate in Political Science or related discipline; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) Evidence of governance and social engagement as well as teaching experience at a university or comparable institution will be added advantages.
N.B. In special circumstances a relevant Master’s Degree in Political Science or related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or related discipline of at least 2.1 or equivalent may be considered.
