LECTURER IN MEDIA STUDIES (RADIO BROADCASTING) – (BOTSWANA CITIZEN ONLY)

VACANCY NO: IRC 1358

The Department of Media Studies in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Botswana is currently seeking to recruit Lecturer in Media Studies (Radio Broadcasting).

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach graduate and undergraduate courses in radio broadcasting; (ii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students’ research projects; (iii) serve on committees within the University and external professional organisations; (iv) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) a PhD in Media Studies or related field(ii) A Master’s degree in Media Studies or related field; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies or related field; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research.  (v) Hands-on experience in radio broadcasting, evidence of governance and social engagement in media related fields, as well as teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages.    

N.B. Applicants with Master’s degree in Media Studies or related field with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies or related field of at least 2(i) or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances.
