LECTURER IN MANAGEMENT (1x 3 year Contract Position)

FACULTY OF BUSINESS - DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT

VACANCY NO: IRC 1029 - LECTURER (1x 3 year Contract Positions)

The Faculty of Business invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of lecturer in Management.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach Management courses to undergraduate and graduate students.  The candidate must have demonstrable capacity to teach at least three of the following areas: occupational health and safety management, Research Methods, Project Management, Strategic Management, diversity management, cross cultural management, managing in a global business environment, managing at the top echelon of the organisation, or any other related management courses.  The department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above. (ii) Supervise students' research projects, thesis and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels; (iii) Supervise students in internship (iv) Participate in all academic and professional service activities of the department as well as community service, normally associated with a University lectureship; (v) the successful candidate will be expected to conduct research in his/her area of expertise. (vi) Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

Lecturer:  Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Management or related fields; (ii) Master's degree in Management or related fields, (iii) a Bachelor's Degree in Management or related fields with at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iv) evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement; (ii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution preferably in Management.

N.B In special circumstances a Masters' degree in Management or related fields with a Bachelor's degree in Management or related fields of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.

The curriculum vitae should contain a detailed list of published works, clearly specifying titles of publications, ISBN numbers (for books, book chapters and conference proceedings),dates of publications, names of publishers, name/s of co-authors if any and number of pages. The works should be categorized into books, book chapters, refereed journals, non-refereed works, consultancies and practical media projects.
