LECTURER IN LAW, DEPARTMENT OF LAW (Contract position)

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES - DEPARTMENT OF LAW

VACANCY: NO. IRC 1111 - LECTURER IN LAW (Contract position)

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The candidate should be able to teach at least two of the following: Administrative Law; Human Rights Law; Law of Delict; Succession & Administration of Estates; Education Law and; Medical Law. The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) a Doctorate (PhD) in Law or related field; (ii) a Master’s degree in Law or related field; (iii) Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of 3.6 or equivalent (iv) show evidence of engagement in research.  Evidence of governance and social engagement, as well as teaching experience at a university or comparable institution will be added advantages.

NB: In special circumstances Master’s degree in Law or related field with a Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field of at least second class first division (2.1) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.
