LECTURER IN LAW

VACANCY NO. IRC 978: LECTURER IN LAW, DEPARTMENT OF LAW (Contract Position)

The Faculty of Social Sciences invites suitable candidates to apply for the position of Lecturer in Law.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The candidate should be able to teach at least two of the following: The Law of Evidence, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Business Law, Company Law, Statutory Interpretation and Legislative Drafting, and Constitutional Law. The Law of Delict and Media Law. The Department reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined above.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) at least a Doctorate in Law or related field; (ii) a Master’s Degree in Law or related field; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement as well as teaching experience at a University or comparable institution.

N.B. In special circumstances a relevant Master’s Degree in Law or a related discipline with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent may be considered.
