LECTURER IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY (FIXED-TERM) – 1 POST

The University of Botswana (UB), a state–owned tertiary education institution, invites suitably qualified, and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to i) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Inorganic chemistry; ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; iii) Conduct research in their area of expertise and also complement existing research areas in Inorganic Chemistry; participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; iv) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Chair of Department/Head of School.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) at least PhD degree in Chemistry, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. (ii) Show evidence of engagement in research (iii) Teaching experience in General and Organometallic Chemistry, Atomic Structure and Bonding, Coordination Chemistry, Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms, Homogeneous catalysis as well as, governance and social engagement are added advantages.
