LECTURER IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY (Contract position)

FACULTY OF SCIENCE - DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

VACANCY NO: IRC 1076 - LECTURER IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY (Contract position)

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to i) Teach large classes of undergraduate and graduate courses in Inorganic chemistry; ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects; iii) Conduct research in their area of expertise and also complement existing research areas in Inorganic Chemistry; participate in other academic and professional activities of the department; iv) Render professional service and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) at least PhD degree in Chemistry, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry; (ii) A relevant Master’s degree specializing in inorganic chemistry with a Bachelor’s degree of at least 2(i) or equivalent may be considered under special circumstances; (iii) Teaching experience in General Chemistry, Main Group Chemistry, Bioinorganic chemistry & Group Theory as well as evidence of research, governance and social engagement are added advantages.
