LECTURER IN THE HUMAN ENVIRONMENT (Contract Position)

The Department of Environmental Science invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Lecturer in Human Environment.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in human environment. (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects within the department; (iii) conduct research in their area of expertise; (iv) participate in the academic and professional activities of the Department; (vi) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have; (i) a PhD in Human Geography or related fields; (ii) Master’s degree in Human Geography or related fields; (iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Geography or related fields with at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement; (ii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution preferably in Human Geography; (iii) and evidence of scholarship in environmental systems modelling.

NB: In special circumstances, a Master’s Degree in Human Geography, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Geography with at least a 2(i) pass or GPA of 3.6 may be considered on a contract basis
