DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
LECTURER IN GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (2 YEAR CONTRACT)
VACANCY NO: FS/ENV3/2022
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in GIS. (ii) Supervise both undergraduate and graduate student research projects within the department; (iii) conduct research in their area of expertise; (iv) participate in the academic and professional activities of the Department; (vi) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) A PhD in Geographic Information System or related fields, (ii) show evidence of engagement in research; (iii) The following will be added advantages: (a) Evidence of governance and social engagement, (b) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; (c) and evidence of scholarship in environmental systems modelling.
NB: In special circumstances, a Master’s Degree in Geographic Information System or related field, a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with at least a 2(i) pass or GPA of 3.6 may be considered on a contract basis.
