FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH/SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH
VACANCY NO: IRC 2600
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Environmental Health, Food Hygiene and Safety, Food Technology and Meat Hygiene (ii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and post-graduate students research projects; (iii) serve in committees within the University and external professional organisations, iv) attract funding and grants
Requirements: (i) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Health or Public Health; (ii) Master’s Degree in Food Safety, Food Quality Management, and Food Technology; (iii) Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health with at least 2.1 pass or equivalent; (iv) have expertise in food inspection and understanding of legislation on food hygiene and technology; (v) evidence of engagement in research; (vi) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution, Governance and Social Engagement will be added advantages.
NB: Applicants holding a Master’s Degree but registered for a PhD may be considered.
