VACANCY No: IRC 2495
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the posts of Lecturer in Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Duties: The successful candidate is expected to (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering; (ii) supervise students’ research/design projects and dissertations/theses at both undergraduate and graduate levels in water resources and engineering hydrology; (iii) conduct research in the area of expertise; (iv) foster research collaborations within and outside the University; (v) provide service to the university, the profession and the community; and (vi) carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) at least a PhD degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields; (ii) Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields; (iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Water and Environmental Engineering or related fields; (iv) evidence of engagement in research in Environmental Engineering; (v) registration as a professional engineer or eligible for registration with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB). The following will be added advantages: (a) Teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; and (b) Evidence of Governance and Social Engagement.
N.B. a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Water and Environmental Engineering or related fields of at least 2.1 may be considered under special circumstances.
