DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH/SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH

VACANCY NO: FHS/ SoPH 1/ 2020 - LECTURER  

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in  in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Risk Assessment and Environmental Health Sampling Techniques; (ii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students research projects; (iii) serve in committees within the University and external professional organizations.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental or Analytical Chemistry or in Chemistry; (ii) expertise in spectrometric techniques for analysis of pesticides, heavy metals and must be able to operate different analytical equipment; (iii) evidence of engagement in research; (iv) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution, Governance and Social Engagement will be added advantages.

NB: Applicants with a Master’s Degree in Environmental or Analytical Chemistry or Master of Science (Chemistry) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Biology with at least a second class, first division (2.1) pass or equivalent may be considered. Lecturer appointees holding a Master’s Degree shall be appointed on contract with the possibility of renewal.
