LECTURER IN COUSELLING AND HUMAN SERVICES (Contract Position) -EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS

VACANCY NO: FE/EDF 01/2022  -  LECTURER   IN COUSELLING AND HUMAN SERVICES (Contract Position)  

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer in Counselling and Human Services, Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education.

Duties: The successful candidate is expected to: (i) teach theory and practical in all aspects of counselling and Human Services, and participate in practicum / internship / and clinical supervision.   (ii) provide academic leadership through enhancement of teaching, research, professional or community services. (iii) take an active role in the supervision and assessment of graduate students; (iv) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research and curriculum review; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department. Evidence of research publications and engagement will be an added advantage.

Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) a Doctorate in any of the following areas: Counselling and Human Services/Counselling/Guidance and Counselling/Counsellor Education, School Counselling, Mental Health Counselling, Marriage and Family Counselling, Rehabilitation Counselling or related fields; (ii) evidence of professional affiliation; (iii) experience in Counselling and Human Services, practicum and internship; (iv) at least  3 years of relevant teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; The following will be an added advantages: (i) sustained research activity: on going internally and/or externally supported research; (ii) research awards and other forms of research recognition, where appropriate; (iii) examiner/ moderator /assessor for undergraduate and or postgraduate projects nationally; and  (iv) effective and experience in running a programme/course, etc.

The curriculum vitae should contain a detailed list of published works, clearly specifying titles of publications, ISBN numbers (for books, books chapters and conferences proceedings), dates of publications, names of publishers, name/s of authors if any and any numbers of pages. The works should be categorized into books, book chapters, refereed journals, non-refereed and consultancies.
