VACANCY NO. FE/PE 1/2020: LECTURER IN ART AND DESIGN EDUCATION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer Art and Design Education, Department of Primary Education, Faculty of Education.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach theory and practical in all aspects of Art and Design Education; (ii) provide academic leadership through the enhancement of teaching, research, professional and community service; (iii) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of graduate and undergraduate students’ research projects; (iv) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: candidate should have: (i) at least PhD in Art and Design Education or Fine Art (both with a focus on ceramic art; (ii) Those with Fine Art must have a relevant PGDE; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research. Evidence of governance and social engagement as well as teaching at University or comparable institution will be an added advantages.
NB: a relevant MEd in Art and Design Education or related area may be considered, provided that the applicant has a relevant Bachelor’s degree with a 2(i) pass.
