LECTURER IN ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGY (CONTRACT POSITION)

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

VACANCY NO: IRC 2415

Duties: The successful candidate will be required to (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Animal Physiology which may include Mammalian Physiology, Comparative Vertebrate Physiology and  Vertebrate Structure; (ii) organize practical sessions and field trips where applicable; (iii) provide appropriate training and supervision of both undergraduate and graduate student research projects within the department; (iv) develop an independent research programme in their area of expertise; (v) participate in the academic and professional activities of the Department; (vi) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Zoology or any related field with specialization in Animal Physiology and (ii) evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages: (i) teaching experience at a university or comparable institution and (ii) evidence of governance and social engagement.
