LECTURER IN ACCOUNTING (1 Contract Position)

DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses; (ii) supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects; (iii) have the ability to teach at least three (3) of the following courses: Financial Reporting, Cost & Management Accounting, Accounting Theory, Ethics in Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation; (iv) undertake scholarly research; (v) have an impactful engagement with the industry; and (vi) perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidate should have i) A minimum of PhD in Accounting or related field (ii) a Master’s degree in Accounting or relevant discipline from a recognized university or similar institution; (iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting related field; (iv) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (v) demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications, clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any, preferably following the APA format. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books.

N.B. In exceptional circumstances, a holder of a Master’s Degree in Accounting (or related field) or a holder of a relevant professional qualification (e.g. BICA, CIMA, ACCA) may be considered provided that the candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with at least a 2(i) pass or equivalent.
