LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

 

FACULTY OF SCIENCE, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN -  VACANCY NO: IRC 864

Requirements: A 2 year Diploma or 2 year certificate in science laboratory technology or chemistry related field. OR at least 3 years of service at the level of Assistant Technician (excluding the period of full-time study) and a record of outstanding service.  Good practical skills and communication skills.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) prepare material required for laboratory classes and setup of laboratories for students; (ii) participate in stock taking, order laboratory materials and maintain inventory of stocks and equipment loans issued from assigned laboratory; (iii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department and/or Chief Technician and/or Senior Technician.
