VACANCY NO: IRC 882, DIRECTOR-HUMAN RESOURCES

The University of Botswana seeks to recruit a Director in the Department of Human Resources to plan, organize, manage and coordinate the provision of Human Resource Management.

Duties:       

The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in the Management and Development of Human Resources in the University.  This includes inter alia;
i.    the formulation and implementation of Human Resources Strategies and Policies, management of Industrial Relations, Training and Development and performance management and reward strategies,

ii.    Provision of services and professional advice that will ensure that the University can attract, motivate and retain appropriately qualified, experienced and productive staff needed to enable the institution fulfil its Vision and Mission.

iii.     Management and coordination of manpower and training, and development budgets within delegated limits

iv.    Overall management of the Department of Human Resource.                                        
Requirements:  

Applicants should have:  (i) A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related areas; (ii) Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related areas will be an added advantage; (iii) membership of,  or eligible to register with an appropriate professional HR institute; (iv) at least seven (7) years work experience in Human Resource Management at a senior level in a large preferably knowledge-based organization; (v) detailed knowledge and experience in Botswana’s Labour Law and practice; (vi) strong interpersonal, communications and leadership skills; (vii) an innovative management style.
