The University of Botswana (UB), a state- owned tertiary education institution invites suitable candidates for the position of Director, Facilities Management in the Office of the Chief Operations Officer.

The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the management of the University's facilities, infrastructure and protection services. This includes planning, developing, and implementing facilities management strategies and initiatives that support the University's academic mission and strategic objectives.

  2. Maintenance and Repair
  3. Space Planning & Utilization
  4. Suitability of Environmental Management
  5. Protection Services
  6. Project Management
  7. Risk Management and Compliance
  8. Customer and Stakeholder Experience
  9. People Management
  10. Financial Management 

Minimum Qualifications; applicant must have attained;

A Master’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent is required. 

Experience:

  1. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) of which should have been at middle management level.
  2. Higher Education work experience is preferred 

Professional Registration or license

Registration with Engineering Regulatory Body, Architectural, Engineering and Construction (ARC), or any other relevant professional bodies. 

Other requirements

  1. Must have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of facilities management.
  2. Must have a proven track record of successfully managing a team of facilities professionals and overseeing complex facilities operations.
