Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) coordinate technical operations of the departmental laboratories and standards in the different subsections of the Department (ii) ensure efficient provision of technical services to teaching staff (iii) ensure general safety and security of equipment in the Department (iv) supervise all laboratory staff (v) where necessary, represents the technical staff in Departmental board meetings (vi) be in charge of maintenance of all laboratory equipment, planning and supervising all maintenance work in the laboratories (vii) keep equipment inventory and be responsible for purchase requisitions for the department (viii) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Candidates should: (i) have at least a Higher National Diploma or Degree in a relevant science field or related field, the possession of an MSc or higher would be an added advantage (ii) have at least 5 years post qualification experience in a relevant area and must have demonstrated excellent administrative and supervisory abilities. (iii) individuals with at least 3 years period at a level of senior technician, excluding the period of full-time study may also apply and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
