Library and Information Studies

The Department of Library and Information Studies (DLIS) is where we continue to perceive information and knowledge management as a key resource and a competitive tool in national economic, social and political development.  The infusion of ICTs in virtually all the DLIS academic programmes has been acknowledged as a vehicle that would be utilized to produce graduates needed by national and international  labour market characterised by  diversity of information and knowledge management employment opportunities in business, industry and government.  This is given impetus by mainstreaming of information and knowledge management in the development framework of the World Bank and other development agencies.

Our department offers degree programmes in Information Systems, Library and Information Studies, and Archives and Records Management.
