Educational Technology

The world is becoming digitalized and globalization demands new skills from teachers whereby they are able to employ various types of technologies in teaching/learning and for administrative purposes. As such, the main goal of the Department of Educational Technology at the University of Botswana is to provide teachers and other professionals with skills and knowledge needed to effectively apply technology in learning and training spaces. The department offers courses at an undergraduate level, which are mainly aimed at providing students with basic skills to be able to design, produce and utilize various ICT resources in their lesson delivery. At post-graduate level, the department offers Master’s and Mphil/PhD programmes which are both aimed at providing advanced training in the application of technology in learning and other workplace environments. The graduate programmes underscore high level original research with practical applications to real-life situations.
