Prof. Philip Bulawa holds a PhD in Educational Management and Policy Formulation. He is currently an Associate Professor in Leadership and Management in Education. His PhD study was on implementation of performance management system in senior secondary schools in Botswana. He chaired BERA task force that developed the “Research and Innovation Policy Framework for the Ministry of Basic Education”. He is currently a leadership member of the Ministry of Basic Education training team assigned to develop school leadership training modules to assist school management teams to spearhead implementation of the Education and Training Sector Strategic Plan (ETSSP).

Prof. Bulawa has published two book chapters, and over 20 journal articles mainly on issues of Educational Leadership and Management, and Performance Management Systems (PMS). He has been engaged by the University of South Africa (UNISA) as an external reviewer for their PhD students. He has also been engaged by the Ministry of Basic Education in Botswana, and Botswana Educational Research Association (BERA) as a Consultant.
