VACANCY NO: FE/ PE 4/ 2019: SENIOR LECTURER IN SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY
Duties: The successful candidate is expected to; (i) teach Sports Psychology courses at Undergraduate and Graduate levels and supervise research, dissertations and practicum; (ii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the Department including research and curriculum review; (iii) teach practical physical education classes; (iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have; (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in Sports Psychology or related discipline; (ii) a Bachelors’ Degree in Physical Education or related discipline with at least a 2(i) pass / GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) a good and sustained record of relevant research and publications with at least 6 publications; 4 of which are peer reviewed journal articles; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters. Applicants should show evidence of engagement in service; (vii) a relevant PhD and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.
