PART-TIME LECTURER IN MINERAL ENGINEERING (CONTRACT POSITION)
VACANCY No. FET/CE 09/2019
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate courses in Mineral Engineering; (ii) conduct and produce results of scholarly work, actively involving students at undergraduate and post graduate levels; (iii) perform administrative and other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants must have (i) at least Master’s degree in Mineral Engineering or related fields; (ii) a Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Engineering or related field obtained from a recognized university with at least 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6 on a 5 point scale. Applicants should also show evidence of engagement in research and service. A PhD in Mineral Engineering or related fields, teaching experience at a University level or comparable institution and evidence of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience at University level in more than one area of the following: Introduction to Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Flotation, Plant Process and Flow Sheet Design, and a good research and publication record in areas relevant to Mineral Engineering. The applicant must be registered with relevant professional bodies.
