The Faculty of Business at the University of Botswana invites applications for the post of Director in its Graduate School of Business. The University of Botswana is a Public Institution situated in Gaborone, the nation’s capital city. The Graduate School of Business (GSB) was established in 2010 and it is housed in the Faculty of Business. The key objectives of GSB are to increase access to and the impact of business education through the expansion of graduate and executive development programmes and to support the Faculty of Business to become a Regional Centre of Excellence in Business Education, Research and Engagement with Industry. Currently, the Faculty offers a number of postgraduate programmes that include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive Master in Entrepreneurship (EMENT), Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) and PhD.
Duties: The main purpose of the job is to provide leadership for the development of the Graduate School of Business as an academic entity within the Faculty of Business, to increase its footprint in the educational sector and to establish impactful relations with the industry. The primary duties are: (i) Leadership and Planning; (ii) Academic Leadership; (iii) Financial Management; (iv) Human Resources; (v) Resource Allocation and Utilization; (vi) and any other duties as may be assigned by the Dean of Faculty of Business.
Requirements: Applicants should have (i) a relevant Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business related areas; (ii) attained the rank of Associate Professor and above; (iii) a traceable record of excellence in teaching and/or research supervision at graduate level, (iv) experience with the development and/or management of graduate programmes and (v) excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. PhD or equivalent qualification in business related areas and well-grounded knowledge of the latest trends in higher education and University governance systems will be an added advantage.
