The Department of Population Studies at the University of Botswana and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health & the African Research, Implementation Science, and Education (ARISE) Network invites applications for a short course on quantitative methods used for monitoring and evaluation (M & E).

By the end of the course, students will be able to achieve the following:

  • Identify appropriate sources of data, including the limitations and necessary interpretations.
  • Employ basic to intermediate, but common, statistical tools used in program M & E.
  • Integrate multiple methods for the operation of a comprehensive M & E system.
  • Describe how to extend basic components to more complex M & E methods.

While the motivating examples of many topics will be M & E of health programs in resource-constrained environments, the methods and principles extend more broadly to other areas such as public policy, economics, decision and management sciences.
